Capacity and Development Services (CAPDEV) is an organisational entity committed to contributing to Africa’s development by providing support through capacity strengthening, capacity building, development strategic planning, development management and coordination to institutions working on development issues in Africa. The organisation based in South Africa is engaged on continent-wide development issues in Africa; collaborating and supporting the lead work of Africa’s key continental organisations as well as international / United Nations system, partner organisations, and civil society / non-governmental organisations.
CAPDEV seeks to appoint a full-time Intern / Junior Professional in Training, based in Fourways, Johannesburg.
This opportunity will provide interesting, hands-on training, and learning in the African and international development environment.
The selected individual for this internship position will be associated with the work of Capacity and Development Services, and other partner organisations. The work of the selected individual will be under the guidance, training and support, of highly experienced international professional officials who have led and managed various development activities and held influential positions both internationally and in the African region. The positions will entail working closely and interfacing with international organisations, regional and sub-regional organisations, civil society and private sector organisations. The Junior Professional in Training will also have an opportunity to develop his/her skills and gain experience in capacity development initiatives, administration, the strategic planning processes of development organisations, and the provision of development services.
- Master degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Development Studies
- Presently unemployed persons are encouraged to apply.
The duration of this Junior Professional in Training opportunity will be discussed with those expressing their interest. While no remuneration as such is foreseen, the selected individuals will however receive a small monthly allowance to cover transport costs. The applicant must be interested in development issues as well as willing to learn.
